We listen to our customers

We serve a wide range of companies

Drico offers the following services to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to get their Apps off of the ground.

Native and cross-platform solutions

Native apps are developed in platform specific language. For instance, Objective C and Swift for iOS, while Java or Kotlin for Android. Crossplatform apps are developed in Javascript which is compatible with multiple platforms.

UI/UX design

To get started, we’ll use pencil and paper and start sketching out these various app functions. Once these drawings are finalized, we’ll move over to designers who will transform it into reality.

Second platform app development

It offers you an opportunity to reach a larger audience. If your app is compatible with multiple platforms and operating systems like the web, iOS, and Android, it can be used by a larger number of users.

Power management, notification and geofencing

Our apps are capable of providing all the features based on clients requirements.

Automated QA and testing

QA is a subset of the software development life cycle (SDLC), and QA automation means using automated testing tools to run tests on the software being developed and report on the results. Automation testing handles many of the time-consuming tasks that were previously carried out by manual testers

Embedded Android & AOSP customizations

It refers to the people, processes, and source code that make up Android. The people oversee the project and develop the source code. The processes are the tools and procedures that we use to manage the development of the software.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to build a mobile application?

Based off a brief conversation, its impossible to tell you how much it would cost to build your app.

It takes a fair bit of work to give someone a fixed price cost. It’s like asking ‘how long is this piece of string?’ – without a ruler.

Building a mobile app is not cheap.

If you’re surprised at an $80,000 ballpark then you’re going to need do go back to the drawing board and do a little more research.

How long does a mobile app take to be developed?

Releasing a minimum viable product takes around 4 – 6 month’s time.

Can we connect our existing web systems / tools / websites / CRM?

Usually yes. Most modern apps and systems will have an interface like what we described in the last question. Ask the company if they have any “API documentation”, if they do then it is very likely that we will be able to integrate with the system.

We’ve experience connecting with lots of different systems and online tools to drive app functionality – here are a few common ones we’ve worked with: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Amazon AWS, Salesforce, Google maps, Matchmaker, Broadbean, Google Sheets, PayPal, Stripe, Airtables, Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, Marketo, Insightly, JT Telecom, SMS Gateway, Worldpay, Sagepay, Mailgun, Xero, Analytics, Youtube, Vimeo and others.

Should I develop in iOS or Android?

With roughly 1.6 billion people around the world now using a smartphone, the mobile app market has never been more exciting or lucrative, with Android and iOS dominating the smartphone operating systems.

You will have to decide exactly which type of smartphone user you want to target first if you don’t want to build both at the same time.

As they are two very different mobile platforms that require two very different types of language (Android apps are predominantly done in Java, while iOS ones are mostly done in Objective C or Swift) and native UI / UX design.

For total market penetration you eventually want to develop for both iOS and Android.

How do you make sure you build what I want, and don’t get it wrong?

We don’t just blindly begin building your requirements; we start by having a meeting to understanding the commercial factors that are driving the need for your project. We want to get to a position very quickly where we know enough to challenge you on the assumptions you’ve made about the features you require.

Once we understand your business, we go to lots of effort at the start of a project to work with you, and scope out your requirements in detail.

You don’t just want us to tell you that we understand your project, we need to prove it to you. This is why we will often create a 10+ page requirements specification, with wireframes where appropriate, before we design a single pixel, or write a line of code.

How will you handle project payments from us?

For small requests, typically $1,000 – $5000, we will invoice a 50% opening deposit and a final 50% deposit on completion of the work.

For larger scopes of work, we will split the payments over the life of the project at monthly intervals. For example, a $12,000 project over three months would divide into four instalments of $3k (25% each).

Any planning day fees are due in advance of the initial planning day meeting.

We work this way because it supports your cash flow, and means that you don’t have to pay too much money up front in advance of seeing some output from us.
